I just want to make sure everyone is aware of the weather conditions expected this weekend so that you can be fully prepared.
On Saturday we are looking at a high of 58 degrees with a chances of showers throughout the late afternoon/event. As it stands, the showers, if they occur are expected around 4pm & 6pm. Overnight the temperature is expected to drop to as low as 35 degrees with a brief showers around 11p, 12a and 3a. Sunday it will go up to 62 degrees, with a chance of some drizzle in the morning around 6a.
As you can see rain gear is necessary, as well as spare shoes, socks and clothing. I would also recommend that you bring spare blankets to use in addition to your sleeping bags as well as something to create a barrier between you and the ground for added warmth.
*DO NOT ASSUME* that because your sleeping bag is rated below the temperature it will be that it will keep you comfortable. The rating on sleeping bags is the temperature at which the sleeping bag will keep you alive. It is not the rating that it will keep you comfortable at. For example, I slept outdoors in a sleeping bag with a rating of 0 degrees. The temperature dropped to 19 degrees that night and it was not comfortable. I needed to add a wool blanket in my sleeping bag as well as one under my sleeping bag to maintain comfort. Granted 19 degrees is sub freezing, which does make a difference in how things work but the point remains the same. BE PREPARED!
