The Webelos were given permission to have a sleepover in the hall on Friday, February 20th since we couldn’t get the cabin for camping. This is a Webelos only event. We will be working on a bunch of our requirements. I will have more information and cost at next Monday’s meeting.

Tonight, we started building the model rockets for our science experiment. Unfortunately, this project is going to take longer than expected. If it’s possible, could you help your sons glue the fins onto their rockets. I am going to be at the hall next Monday at 6:30 if the boys need more help. I hope to finish construction next week.

The boys who didn’t build rockets earned their marbles belt loop. This also completed the Sportsman activity for Ethan L.

We need to change our plans. Unfortunately, the cabin was already booked when we called to reserve it. We are talking about having a Webelos sleepover at the hall. The hall is already reserved on Saturday, February 21st, for the pinewood derby workshop. We are seeing if the hall is available the night before (Friday, February 20th) for a Webelos only sleepover and workshop. Obviously, this won’t be as much fun as real camping but it will give the boys time to work on a lot of their requirements. More information will come as soon as we find out if the church will let us use the hall.

Tonight, the Webelos 1 either played soccer or caught up on past assignments. Some boys were sent home with homework that they didn’t finish in the past. Next week, we will start the Scientist activity. If you bought model rockets for your son, please have them bring them in next week. This will also cover the Science section of the NOVA awards. If you didn’t purchase a rocket for your son, we will do a different science experiment.
The Pioneers started the Technology section of the NOVA awards. Again, they have the homework assignment of watching a couple of videos on YouTube and answering a couple of questions. Next week, we will start the Science section of the NOVA awards. All of the Pioneers bought rockets for this experiment. Please bring them in next week.

Attention all Webelos parents! I am still trying to get a headcount for the February cabin camping trip. If I do not get enough scouts, it will cost too much to rent the cabin and I will have to cancel the trip.
