Calling all 1776 families! (Program Updates)

Happy weekend, Pack 1776 families! We hope all of the scouts are having a great start to the school year, although we know it looks a bit different. Parents and guardians, please check your email. Our cubmaster has sent out an update with guidelines and program ideas for the 2020-2021 scouting year. Included in the email is a 1-2minute survey that we are asking all parents/guardians to fill out in order to help us plan for our program. The survey results and guidelines will be discussed at a zoom parent meeting on Monday Sept 21st, at 7pm. The zoom link and login information will be sent via email that morning.

If you did not receive this email, check spam. If it is still not there, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email, or on Facebook messenger and we will make sure you get it. Any questions you may have can be filled out on the survey and addressed during the parent meeting. We look forward to seeing familiar faces on zoom and hopefully finding our way back to the scouting trail, safely, soon.

Yours In Scouting,

The leaders of Pack 1776

Monday Night Adventure

Baloo HikingAs our mighty cubs are finishing up their schooling for the day and fueling for our meeting tonight, I want to remind den parents about tonight’s meeting. Weather permitting, the Tigers, Wolves and Bears are going on a one-mile hike around the neighborhood tonight and looking to find evidence of wildlife in nature.

All scouts should have sturdy footwear, a water bottle, flashlight, and appropriate outerwear for the weather. The predicted temperature for 7:00pm is 64 degrees F. Scouts are encouraged to bring a backpack with their six essentials to prepare for longer hikes and adventures if they desire.

Tiger Cubs…

Tiger Cub Parents last night we finished up the elective Earning Your Stripes. Next week we will be working on the Tiger Tales elective, playing a game and sharing a snack.

TIGERS…

Good morning Tiger parents. Last night we worked on and completed the elective “Sky is the Limit”, shared a snack and played hot potato.

Next week we are going to be working on the elective “Earning Your Stripes”. Please have kids do something helpful for the week, a small chore for example. We will talk about what they did during the meeting. I also ask that kids bring in 3-5 ORANGE things they like for show and tell. If it is something that cannot be brought in, a picture is great as well. We’ll discuss these during the meeting as well. We may have a small snack as well. Have a great week, and see you all next week!! Any questions, comments, etc. don’t hesitate to send me an email.

Tigers (1/27/20)

Hello all!! This week in the Tiger den we covered TIGER BITES requirement and SAFE & SMART elective. We all brought yummy and healthy snacks to share, we talked about healthy food choices and not so healthy choices. For our elective we discussed what to do in an emergency; who to call, how to react and respond.

Tiger den: 1/20/20

Tiger Parents, Tonight we reviewed the Bobcat requirements. Please also review them with your Cubs at home, they are as follows:

1. Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my county.  and to obey the scout law;  to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong,  mentally awake and morally straight.

2. Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

3. The Cub Scout Sign.

The Cub Scout Sign is 2 fingers, held high. It means you are ready to listen. It’s made with the right arm held high and straight up above the shoulder, with the index and middle fingers forming a V.

4. The Cub Scout Handshake.

The handshake is done by putting the index and middle fingers of the right hand against the other person’s wrist when shaking hands.

5. Cub Scout Motto.

Do your best.

6. Cub Scout Salute.

The salute is made by joining the index and middle fingers of the right hand (holding the other fingers with the thumb) and toughing the extended fingers to either the forehead or hat visor.

We will review these for the next few weeks at beginning of our meetings.        If you have any questions/comments/concerns please don’t hesitate to email me at: stracey@scouting1776.org

Have a fantastic week! See you all next Monday!

What a fun Open House!

A warm thanks to everyone who came out tonight to the Cub Scout Pack 1776 Open House. We saw many new faces, as well as our dear familiar ones. The children thoroughly enjoyed “SCIENCE!” With Dan, electrical circuitry with Mike, Catapults of Fun and corn hole with Nora and Digging for Dinosaurs with Kristine. We all had an evening of learning through fun, comradery, and laughs. A special thank you to the boy scouts and venturing crew (both of 1776) who assisted us tonight, and of course to Regina, our Cub Master, who met with all of the parents.  We really have a great group here, and we very much look forward to expanding our cub community! See     you all next week!

**Remember, it’s never too late to meet with us. If you were unavailable for our Open House, you are welcome to swing by any Monday meeting between 7:00PM and 8:00PM!

Welcome ALL to our annual Open House

We are all looking forward to meeting new faces tonight. There is a lot of information and fun planned for this evening!

Oh the fun we had at Valley Forge

We had a wonderful (approx) 5 mile hike at Valley Forge last month. The weather was perfect and the company even better.  It was a nice turnout for scout attendance and even though the paths we took did not lead us to he dinosaur fossils, there’s always next time!  Way to go Cubs Dennis, Evan and Megan! You are 1/3 of the way toward your summer participation badge! Can’t wait to see who joins us in August!!  Have a happy and safe summer ☀️ check out some pictures! https://scouting1776.sharepoint.com/:i:/r/teams/PackLeaders/Shared%20Documents/Photos/20190622%20-%20Valley%20Forge%20Hike/IMG_4623.JPG?csf=1&e=PeEY2I

Blue and Gold

Dear Parents,
Can you believe that the end of our scouting year is upon us? Where did the time magically go? Just a moment ago it was September and we were just starting the year and then POOF!!! It is over. We are having our end of year Blue and Gold Banquet on June 2, 2018. The doors open at 12:15 and the banquet starts at 1:00. Tickets are available. Each scout gets a ticket for themself and 2 tickets for parents. Any extra tickets are $5.00 each. Payment at the door is acceptable. Head counts are needed by May 30th. We look forward to ending the year with the same spirit that we have had all year!

Thank you!
Sincerely,
Regina Giuffre
